The nautical operations of the Port of Hamburg are unique – as are the diverse tasks that arise on a daily basis. From the Port Authority to the Hamburg Fleet and beyond, our colleagues are active in keeping Germany's largest inland port running smoothly.
Our fleet is Hamburg's full-service provider for the City of Hamburg. Our colleagues are responsible for operating and chartering ships and floating equipment, with and without personnel. This includes, for example, ship captains and ship's mechanics. We also regulate all ship traffic and monitor port activities in the nautical control center using state-of-the-art technology. In doing so, we ensure safety and efficiency and mediate between shipping companies, transshipment companies, and stevedoring companies.
Nautical applications at the HPA
Through networked data flow and innovative IT solutions, we make the flow of goods and traffic in the port more environmentally friendly, faster, and more efficient.
