The objective of HPA Polder Hamburg GmbH (HPG) is to strengthen private flood protection in the Port of Hamburg in order to secure Hamburg’s status as a port location.
The company performs the flood protection duties for the HPA in accordance with the Hamburg Polder Regulations, and being an independent private company, the organizational structure enables a fast and flexible response.
The HPG has the opportunity to significantly increase the degree of automation and digitalization in the maintenance and servicing of flood protection facilities. The use of purely digital maintenance procedures as well as remotely controlled pumps and gates are just a couple of examples of how efficiency could be improved.
