The Hamburg Cruise Days are a great festival of cruise ships in the port of Hamburg. They usually take place every two years and attracted about 570,000 visitors to the river Elbe in 2015. The sixth edition of the event also promises a weekend full of maritime highlights with a total of ten cruise ships. For example, the largest Hamburg Cruise Days parade of all time: On Saturday evening, a total of six cruise ships - accompanied by 24 escort ships and a large fireworks - will be sailing together along the Elbe river. The great Hamburg Cruise Days parade is led by AIDAprima and ferries of the HADAG. "It will be a parade of superlatives," says organizer Uwe Bergmann, uba gmbh. "We bring a total of 1,575 meters of ships to the water, 502,946 tonnage and 17,140 persons, all of whom look at the Hansestadt from the water."

Further highlights on the water are a fireworks display on Friday evening, as well as the Hamburg Cruise Night, which invites numerous passengers on the Elbe on various theme ship trips. On land, visitors can also look forward to many varied theme parks in 2017. Those who can not be there will be able to follow the spectacle as in previous years in a live TV show of the NDR.

The St. Pauli-Elbtunnel will be closed for cars and motorbikes because of the Hamburg Cruise Days
